Kerem Asfuroglu is a lighting designer with a particular interest in darkness & cities at night. He is the founder of Dark Source - a lighting design & creative content studio driven by social and environmental values. Following his graduation for Wismar University - Architectural Lighting Design MA in 2010, Asfuroglu has worked at Speirs+Major, London Studio as a senior member of the creative team for almost 8 years. While at Speirs + Major, he worked on projects such as Covent Garden's site-wide lighting improvement, Battersea Power Station's redevelopment masterplan, City Point Public Realm and Shakespeare's New Place in Stratford-upon-Avon. He won several awards including Red Dot, Vox Juventa, PLDC Best Newcomer and Future of Urban Lighting. He was awarded with the title of Dark Sky Defender by International Dark Sky Association for his works advocating the importance of darkness.
